Posted on December 26 2016
From East to West the HITS horse shows are known as the horse shows of all horse shows. Horse Shows In The Sun, commonly known as HITS, is host to shows situated in some of the most beautiful and rich-in-equestrian-culture destinations the U.S. has to offer.
What makes HITS horse shows so epic? HITS has been producing horse shows for over 30 years. During that time HITS has become synonymous with world-class hunter/jumper shows. They produce what has been called the HITS Triple Crown of Show Jumping; AIG $1 Million Grand Prix, Great American $1 Million Grand Prix and the Saugerties $1 Million Grand Prix FEI CSI-5*. But don’t let the big numbers scare you, as riders of various skill levels and ages can find competition in this circuit.
In 2017 HITS will pair up with the Showplace Productions team to bring the HITS brand of shows to the Midwest. Equestrianista has had the honor to vendor at many of the Showplace Productions horse shows over the last few years. We have witnessed the family atmosphere this team creates for exhibitors, spectators and vendors alike. The Showplace Productions team has been producing horse shows that are unmatched within the Midwest for years. From the exceptional exhibitor parties, to the top-level prize money – Showplace Productions creates the ultimate show experience.
This phenomenal team will now combine to bring you incomparable shows within the heart of the Midwest – Chicago. The historical Balmoral Park will host equestrians, horses and ponies from across the globe for 14 weeks of competition, all while being able to seat over 4,400 spectators in the grand stand.
The new Balmoral Park location will include FEI rated events, a USHJA International Hunter Derby and USEF Rated National & Premier Hunters and Jumpers. For the numerous equestrian competitors who mark this inaugural season as a must-stop on their list of 2017 shows, they will be delighted by the proximity to Chicago. And whether it’s the riders themselves or their horse show entourage, there’s plenty of great reasons to make the trip and experience Balmoral Park and the city home to The Magnificent Mile.
Who will we see there!?
